Motorists 'influenced by environment'

Car insurance customers may be among those 55 per cent of car owners who told Experian they had environmental concerns.
A further one in four said that the environment would be an influencing factor on their next car purchase.
Kirk Fletcher, managing director of the company's automotive division, said the survey showed the environment is a growing concern for motorists.
"A car is the second biggest purchase a person is likely to make after a buying a house and customers concerned about the environment will have a lot of questions to ask before they make their final decision to buy," he remarked.
Jay Nagley, publisher of Clean Green Cars, recently said that within five years motorists will be able to buy the "new generation" of hybrid cars, which will be "much more efficient" than the current range.
This is likely to see more people choose such vehicles, the expert added.
