Car insurance holders may benefit from new advice
Motorists who do not want to jeopardise the low-cost premiums on their over-50s car insurance this winter may do well to listen to advice from the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF).

According to the group, there are a number of steps motorists can take to help make life easier in poor weather.

It suggested vehicle owners ensure anti-freeze is no more than two years old, replace ineffective windscreen wipers and check to see if their battery is in good working order.

RMIF also said a professional service can provide valuable peace of mind.

Director Sue Robinson stated: "There are many elements within a car that will need the kind of professional attention that only a garage can provide."

She added by opting for an RMIF-approved company, motorists can drive away after their service safe in the knowledge a good job has been carried out.

Meanwhile, the group recently called on the government to help the UK car industry by working to improve consumer confidence.
