The force has urged people to be wary of cold callers offering gardening services.
It issued this warning after a sneak-in burglary took place in Bradford.
While one of the thieves distracted the resident, another man entered the victim's home and stole keys and cash before being disturbed.
The suspects are white males, believed to be aged between 25 and 30.
It was also revealed one of the men spoke with a strong Irish accent and it is thought they were driving a dark-coloured vehicle.
Officers have urged anyone with information to come forward.
The force also released a statement saying: "West Yorkshire police are keen to remind people to be extra vigilant when approached by cold callers."
In other news from the area, crime prevention advice leaflets written in Urdu have been handed out in mosques in Huddersfield.
