Home insurance holders may welcome burglary crackdown

A day of action aimed at tackling break-ins in the Beeston Hill area of the city has been declared a success.
Officers revealed seven people were arrested and stolen property, cars and drugs seized as a result of the initiative.
As part of the scheme, surveys were handed out to residents so they could report issues straight to their neighbourhood police team.
Commenting on the questionnaires, Inspector Damien Miller said: "They give people the chance to speak directly to a local officer about any issues or incidents that have affected the quality of life in their area."
Householders were also offered crime prevention advice, which could reduce the likelihood of them having to make a claim on their contents insurance as the result of a burglary.
Elsewhere in West Yorkshire, police in Bradford recently urged residents not to let officials into their homes without checking their ID.
