Bikes 'should be covered under contents insurance'
Home Insurance News - Published: 18/02/2009

Research from moneysupermarket.com revealed 19 per cent of people in the UK would consider taking to two wheels in order to cut costs, improve their fitness and do their bit for the environment.
It also found 15 per cent of Brits already cycle to work every day.
However, the website reminded people that failing to insure their bikes could prove costly.
Steve Sweeney, head of home insurance, said: "Lance Armstrong proved this week not even professionals are safe, as his custom-built machine was swiped during the Tour of California."
He pointed out Tory leader David Cameron also had his bike stolen in London last summer.
Previously, moneysupermarket.com advised householders in high-risk flood areas to check the details of their buildings and contents insurance.
