Car insurance customers offered security tips
Motorists keen to avoid a claim on their over-50s car insurance may be well-advised to take on board security tips from a vehicle recovery company.

Tracker warned over 40 per cent of drivers in the UK have been targeted by criminals, with one in five of those questioned admitting to having felt threatened while on the road.

However, it insisted a few simple precautions could help prevent people becoming victims while behind the wheel.

Drivers were advised to plan journeys meticulously to avoid ending up lost in unfamiliar territory.

They were also encouraged to keep doors locked at all times.

Police relationship manager from Tracker Stuart Chapman said: "Taking sensible and simple precautions before and during every car journey can drastically reduce the risk of being involved in a threatening incident."

Following this advice could help motorists protect the no-claims bonus they have built up over the years and ensure they continue to have access to low-cost cover.
