New cars 'not always costly to insure'
Car Insurance News - Published: 25/02/2009

Research by moneysupermarket.com revealed buying cover for the latest models is not always more expensive than a used vehicle policy.
It found a 35-year-old male motorist could end up paying 20 per cent less to insure a 2008 Vauxhall Corsa compared to the same model registered in 1999.
Andy Leadbetter, managing director of moneysupermarket.com, also pointed out: "Where the premium for a new car does show as more expensive, the price differences are much smaller than many would expect to see."
Older drivers who have managed to build up their no-claims bonus over the years may find they can get a competitive deal on over-50s car insurance.
Providers are generally prepared to offer more mature drivers cheaper cover as they are regarded as a relatively low risk.
